The Process of Re-design Haori

The process of creating our Re-Design Haori

With the modernization in Japan, less and less people are wearing kimono nowadays, aside from rare and special occasions. According to a report by a research company, there are 20 to 30 trillion yen worth of kimonos lying idle in Japan, many of which are beautiful, rare and valuable. We turn our attention to this social problem and research every day to find ways to make use of these valuable resources. As the first item of our collection, we are introducing Re-Design Haori, traditional jacket worn over a kimono.

FIRST STEP

Sourcing and ordering vintage kimono and dyed textile fabrics

SECOND STEP

Inspection of the kimono before shipping them to our factory

1
1 Procurement of lining cloth
Procure natural fiber fabrics that go well with vintage kimonos from clothing fabric manufacturers
2
Kimono inspection
Check the condition of the vintage kimono to see if they can be redesigned

THIRD STEP

Preparation and manufacturing at the contracted factory
